Born in Brooklyn – New York City on November (5 or 7), 1938 Joe Ira Dassin (Joseph) was the son of Jules Dassin and Beatrice Launer. After a period of disturbances (involving his family) at home and uncertainty abroad, the family finally got settled in Paris – France. He was a very popular French/American singer(naturalized) with an enviable palmarès. Although his life was short, his musical legacy was nothing but impressive.
